The journals and conferences where the selected articles were published included six and three respectively: the Journal of Cleaner Production; the SAE Technical Papers; Resources, Conservation & Recycling; Sustainability; and Design Journal.

Almost half of the selected papers focused on exploring and analyzing determinants and relationships associated with product durability. Other objectives include defining methodologies and assessment tools for durability. Most of the studies analyzed in this research involved laboratory tests or CAE simulations (four and five articles, respectively). Lastly, there were a few surveys and framework-based studies.

In terms of methodology, the most common method used was analytical models (14 articles). Other methods included laboratory tests and analyzing user feedback (16 articles). Finally, there were a few studies that investigated the effect of different design variables on product durability, including material selection and use patterns. However, none of the studies looked at emotional durability, which is the ability to endure a situation without being harmed emotionally or psychologically.

There are a number of color options available with aluminum fences. Wooden fences come in a limited variety, while vinyl offers many possibilities. Typically, wood is painted or varnished in order to achieve the desired aesthetic, while aluminum is left natural.

Cedar is a popular choice for fences because it has a pretty red hue, few knots, and resistance to warping. It is also naturally resistant to decay and insect pests. However, cedar can rot quickly when planted in moist ground. Regardless, it requires very little maintenance. Just be sure to treat it right after construction, and re-treat once a year. This will keep it looking good and strong, and prevent the moisture from causing damage to your fence posts or panels. Also, be sure to keep it away from weeds and grass to avoid rubbing off the stain.
